Wide World of Sports reported on 25 August that Teig Wilton's manager confirmed the Sharks back-rower will test the NRL open market. The Sydney Morning Herald noted on 3 September that Wilton is among players who hit the market on November 1 if they haven't re-signed with their current clubs beforehand.
